What should be considered when designing injection mold?

Relying on the design procedure and standardization, strive to achieve ‘’standard, optimization, perfection and efficiency".

The following issues should be considered when designing injection molding:

1) Firstly, we need to consider whether there are any problems or omissions in the conditions provided by the customers and sales department.

2) It is necessary to understand the shape and size of the plastic parts, the assembly method, and the assembly relationship, and consider whether or not the size match of the plastic parts is reasonable.

3) According to the requirements of the client's contract, select a reasonable parting surface. Consider whether the positioning structure of the core and cavity and the form of the embedded structure of the fixed mold are reasonable.

1) When choosing the number of cavities and the form of runner system, as well as the gate position, it is necessary to take into account the issues such as pressure balance of the runner system, deformation of the plastic parts, and internal stress.

5) Determine the structural form of the mold ejection system, and consider whether the plastic parts can be smoothly demolded.

6) Consider the strength, rigidity of the mold, as well as the selection of steel grades and requirements for heat treatment.

7) When there are side holes or indent, the slide mechanism should be considered.

8) Consider the structure and effectiveness of the temperature control system.

9) Consider the design of venting system.

10) Consider the economic and rational processing techniques and methods for molds.

11) Consider whether the dimensions of the mold match the relevant parameters of the injection machine.

12) When designing the mold, we should consider the surface quality defects that may occur during the molding of the product.
