3D Foam

3D Foam Cutting is a process that uses  machining technology with assistance of advanced tool to precisely shape foam materials into pre-designed three-dimensional forms. This technology breaks through the limitations of traditional foam processing, which could only handle simple geometric shapes, and enables the efficient, high-precision machining of complex 3D contours.

At CN Mould & Plastic Limited, our equipment applies the “high-frequency micro-vibration” cutting principle. This technique gently and rapidly separates the fiber structure of the material, avoiding forceful pulling or compression. As a result, every cut surface remains clean and smooth, delivering flawless three-dimensional finished products.

Advantages of 3D Foam

1

Unlimited Shape Flexibility

The system executes any complex geometry or custom contour – from flat irregular gaskets and multi-level cavity trays to ergonomic 3D contoured liners. It supports bevel cutting for angled edges and chamfers, through cutting for clean separation of multi-layer materials, as well as integrated multi-function processing combining cutting, punching, creasing, grooving, and drawing in a single pass – delivering a true "design-to-finished-part" workflow.

2

High Precision & High Quality

Accuracy up to ±0.1mm, meeting tight tolerance requirements. Smooth cut edges, no burrs, and no edge collapse, ensuring dimensional stability and surface quality for functional parts such as seals and gaskets.

3

 Broad Material Adaptability

Capable of processing a wide range of foam materials, as well as flexible or semi-rigid materials such as carbon fiber, leather, rubber, and honeycomb panels.

4

No Thermal Damage

Utilizes a high-frequency vibration cold cutting principle – no high-temperature burning, no scorch marks or odors, and no compression deformation. Preserves the material’s original physical properties and edge quality.

5

Eco-Friendly & Energy Efficient

Computer-automated nesting optimizes material utilization and minimizes waste. The cutting process generates no dust, no exhaust gases, and no liquid waste.
